Sometimes in life, you meet teachers who are not just tutors but guides. Teachers who go beyond just making you memorise the theory but also creates an interest in you for the subject by actually telling you the logic behind it. I like to define Dulip sir like that. Someone who would take up a whole class to tell you the logic and practical application behind a whole economic concept. So many students define Economics as a subject that confuses them. And most off the students who study economics just by heart all concepts and theories. But with Dulip sir, we actually understood “what happens” and “why it happens” part of economics. We weren’t just merely looking at a definition but we were looking at a whole human behaviour I’d say. I think as a student this helped me so much, because when you know how it happens no question can confuse you. Since you know how it’s derived, you can easily apply it in any jumbled question because you just didn’t memories but you understood. So isn’t that what a student actually wants? I will miss out on a lot if I don’t mention that Dulip sir was actually a father like teacher for me, not just in academics but in also in facing life. Dulip sir gave us a learning that wasn’t just framed to being an academic but for being an intellect.

You simply taught us that learning isn’t a duty but the passion that can drive us to our dreams of life. You taught us your subject in clarity with absolute passion that made us see through what the subject is practically not just theoretically. You always taught us the reason behind a point. You just didn’t stop at the fact but also taught us why it’s happening the results of the process. It wasn’t a mere subject but also another aspect of viewing the subject in reality.

I was able to be placed Island 8th, Colombo district 4th in the G.C.E. A/L exam 2020. I take this opportunity to thank you for the immense support and guidance given to me during the 2 most important years of my life. The uniqueness of Dulip sirs teaching style was the fact that he understood how differently students perceive the subject of economics. For example, the way I learnt was different than the way another student did. Therefore his guidance was unique to each student as he understood what each student wants and provided us with a comfortable learning style. Dulip sir’s economics tutes were very comprehensive and became my favourite due to his story based teaching method. Also there were some areas that sounded advanced to me during A/L years. But overall the paper discussions covered the entire syllabus and his predictions were 100% correct, which helped me score Marks in the economics paper with ease, regardless of the difficulty level. Overall, Dulip sir will always be one of the most respected teachers I ever had in my life as a student. Not only for AL’s he taught us about how to face challenges in life and these advices probably laid the foundation to my career life as well. My advice to AL students is that what matters is you should continuously listen and get advice from teachers as correct guidance is very rare in the Advanced level life and you are very lucky to arrive at that destination to receive it! Dear sir, thank you very much for the immense support and trust held in me during my AL years and up to now. Your continuous motivation and advice is what brought me here today. I wish you the best of luck in your teaching career. May you be blessed throughout your life!.

I attended Dulip sir's theory and revision classes in economic and business studies from 2020 till my A/L exams in 2023. The few classes we did in-person are clear memories to me even now. In class, he made sure we improved our soft skills and checked on our progress individually. Economics can be a complex subject to learn in any sitting but he conducted engaging online classes so it was easy to pay attention and understand. Having class recordings at hand also helped me a long way when revising. During these years, I felt excited to learn new concepts that were effectively illustrated in his tutes and slides. To enhance that, Dulip sir's explanations clearly showed a passion for economics that supported our learning. The business studies class was an evolving experience. Dulip sir gave in-depth explanations to create an interest in the student's mind. He supported the theoretical concepts with experiences that we could relate to. The revision classes for both subjects were really the highlights for me. We did weekly MCQs that lessened my anxiety about facing exams. Dulip sir gave us detailed instructions on exam techniques and how to face difficult questions without panicking. Earlier, I approached essay questions in a time-wasting manner. But, Dulip sir demonstrated how to write essay answers in real time with us. He has taken a lot of effort to construct questions that were challenging and made us revise the syllabus as well. He has been a constant source of unwavering support for his students, always seeking a way to enrich us with knowledge and practical advice. As he is a dedicated teacher to the core of his being, I highly recommend him to any student whether you are just starting the subjects or close to sitting for the A/Ls.
